China's scrap lost on falling steel prices
China's steel prices continued to decline last week, which dragged down scrap prices and triggered a rapid decline in the scrap market.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed Chinese 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 3,329/tonne ($522/t), including VAT. This is CNY 4/t lower than Thursday and CNY 130/t lower than last Friday.
