China's scrap looses despite recovered demand
Chinese scrap prices expanded their decline last week. Despite a resumption of production at some steel mills, leading to a rebound in demand, there is still oversupply.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed Chinese 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 3,616/tonne ($566/t), including VAT. This is CNY 24/t lower than Thursday and CNY 128/t lower than last Friday.
