China's scrap increases, imports steady
China's steel scrap prices corrected slightly higher last week due to the recovery of scrap consumption. A pick-up in steel market sentiment on stimulus policies also had a positive impact on raw materials markets.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 2,853/tonne ($393/t), including VAT. This is unchanged from Thursday and up CNY 11/t from the previous Friday.
