China's scrap drops with weakening steel market
Chinese scrap prices are falling as China's steel market tumbles. Although arrivals at steel mills have decreased slightly, the overall market supply is still at a high level.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 2,819/tonne ($386/t), including VAT. This is unchanged from Thursday and CNY 25/t lower from 28 September.
