China's scrap declines on narrowing mill profits
Chinese scrap prices saw regional movements last week, with scrap prices in most of China's provinces remaining weak. Scrap prices in Jiangsu increased slightly due to tight supply.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 2,797/tonne ($382/t), including VAT. This is CNY 3/t lower from Thursday and down CNY 22/t from a week before.
