China's scrap declines despite less supply
China's scrap market fell in the earlier period of last week but gradually pared losses later in the week. Tight scrap supply has supported scrap prices.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 2,836/tonne ($393/t), including VAT. This is CNY 9/t higher from Thursday but down CNY 3/t from the previous Friday.
