China's rod export prices stand still amid quiet

Chinese wire rod exports remained quiet this week. The local steel market fluctuated but export market activity remained flat. On Thursday, Kallanish assessed 6.5mm diameter mesh-grade wire rod at $740/tonne fob China, unchanged week-on-week. Northern China's steel mills offered wire rod exports at $740/t fob China, for February shipments. Local steel mills began to restock before the Spring Festival and gradually released demand to support market prices…
