China's rebar rebounds with power rationing rumours
Chinese rebar prices struggled to rise last week as a rebound in futures drove spot market offers higher.
In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 3,370-3,390/tonne ($463-466/t), up CNY 20/t on-week, Kallanish assesses. The October 2024 rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed at CNY 3,553/t on the same day, down by CNY 63/t compared with Thursday but CNY 9/t higher from a week before.
