Chinese rebar rebounds on demand resumption
China's rebar market has rebounded after falling early last week, with higher futures driving a recovery in spot market demand.
In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 3,830-3,850/tonne ($537-540/t), rebounding by CNY 30/t on-week. The October rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed at CNY 3,766/t, up by CNY 1/t compared with Thursday and CNY 80/t higher from the previous Friday.
