Chinese rebar rebounds on improving demand

China's construction steel market rebounded last week, and macro policy stimulus combined with a slight demand recovery to support prices, Kallanish notes. In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 4,060-4,080/tonne ($592-595/t), up CNY 40/t on-week. The October rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed at CNY 4,097/t, up by CNY 45/t compared with Thursday and CNY 168/t from the previous Friday.…
