Chinese rebar trapped in fluctuation
China's rebar market prices remained flat last week, with lower futures driving weaker trading sentiment.
In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 3,900-3,920/tonne ($545-548/t), stable from a week before, Kallanish assesses. The January 2024 rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed at CNY 3,976/t, down CNY 42/t compared with Thursday and CNY 47/t lower from the previous Friday.
