Chinese rebar gains on restrictions

The Chinese rebar market continued to soar last week, but government moves to suppress commodity prices led to a decline in the market on Friday, Kallanish notes. In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 5,360-5,380/tonne ($832-835/t), up CNY 190/t from the week before.
