China's rebar gains on rebounding demand
China's construction steel market continued to rebound last week, as the economic downturn in August slowed and market sentiment turned up.
In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 3,700-3,720/tonne ($508-511/t), up CNY 50/t from last week, Kallanish assesses. The January 2024 rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed at CNY 3,824/t, up CNY 30/t compared with Thursday and CNY 107/t higher from the previous Friday.…
