China's rebar falls with disappointing economic performance
China's rebar market retreated last week as disappointing economic data dampened trading sentiment.
In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 3,900-3,920/tonne ($548-551/t), down CNY 50/t from last week, Kallanish assesses. The May 2024 rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed at CNY 3,915/t, down CNY 10/t compared with Thursday and CNY 127/t higher from the previous Friday.
