China's rebar falls despite demand recovery
The Chinese rebar market rebounded late last week, but not enough to wipe out a weak start to the week, Kallanish notes.
In Shanghai on Friday afternoon, 20mm HRB400 rebar was trading at CNY 3,880-3,900/tonne ($560-563/t), down CNY 20/t on-week. The October rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed at CNY 3,791/t, increasing by CNY 72/t compared with Thursday and CNY 154/t from the previous Friday.
