China’s non-compliant steel exports exceed 30mt: conference
China’s annual steel exports that evade domestic value-added tax (VAT) are estimated to exceed 30 million tonnes this year, Kallanish learns from the speech given by Sumec vice general manager Luan Xiaozhen on Friday.
Luan blasted the export method when reporting on the company's performance this year. In 2023, a large amount of Chinese steel has been exported without full VAT payment, allowing for lower export prices.
