China’s Longxin Steel to upgrade electric arc furnace
China’s Longxin Iron & Steel in Anhui Province is set to replace a 70-tonne electric arc furnace (EAF) with a new one of the same size, according to an announcement on the Industry and Information Technology Department of Xuancheng City, Anhui Province.
As the size of EAF will not be changed, the capacity will also be maintained at 500,000 tonnes/year, Kallanish notes. The final products are expected to be fine and special alloy steel.
