Chinese coking coal trade surges

China imported more coking coal on-year at lower prices in the first two months this year, according to customs data, while exports also saw growth. Coking coal imports were up 36.5% on-year to 17.89 million tonnes. Meanwhile, averaged realised price was $175/tonne, down 12.5%, Kallanish notes.
