China’s coking coal imports thrive in August
Supported by recovering crude steel production, China’s coking coal imports achieved stable growth in August, according to data provided by the General Administration of Customs of China.
Monthly imports of coking coal totaled 6.41 million tonnes, up 3.5% month-on-month and 36.8% year-on-year, Kallanish notes. Year-to-date imports were boosted to 38.63mt, surging 25.9% on-year.
