China’s coking coal imports slump despite steel growth
Although China's steel production increased, imports of coking coal still fell sharply in the first two months of 2021 due to the import ban on Australian coking coal and insufficient supply from other sources, Kallanish notes.
The latest General Administration of Customs data show that China imported in February 3.23 million tonnes of coking coal, at a value of $35.45 million.
