China’s coking coal imports recover in June
China’s coking coal imports achieved growth in June on the support of rising monthly steel production, ending two consecutive months of declines, according to data from the General Administration of Customs.
Monthly coking coal shipments to China amounted to 7.75 million tonnes, rising 15.2% from the previous month and 55.4% from a year earlier, Kallanish notes. The average realised price also fell by 9.9% on-month and 38.1% on-year to $161/tonne.
