China's coking coal futures hike
Chinese coking coal futures soared on Tuesday as domestic coal mines face safety inspections following incidents.
On the Dalian Commodity Exchange, the most traded coking coal futures contract in January 2024 was settled at CNY 1,771/tonne ($243/t), up by CNY 72.5/t ($9.9/t) from Monday. The same contract for coke gained by CNY 65.5/t on Tuesday to CNY 2,429/t.
