China’s coke trade thrives in November
China has been lowering crude steel production since October, so November coke exports were higher due to weaker domestic demand. Imports also climbed from the prior month however, Kallanish observes.
Monthly exports of Chinese coke reached 615,465 tonnes, hiking 22.4% on-month and 42.5% on-year. Over January-November the volume amounted to 8.41 million tonnes with a surge of 40.4%, according to data provided by the General Administration of Customs.
