China’s automotive production flattens in October
China produced 2.60 million vehicles in October, down by -2.49% month-on-month but still 0.67% up year-on-year, according to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). This year’s automotive steel demand growth has slowed in part due to the lower vehicle sales tax discount, but strong commercial vehicle production compensated for the slower passenger vehicle growth, Kallanish notes.
