China's April steel exports rise, imports fall
China's net steel exports increased slightly in April, with steel exports picking up slightly but steel imports turning down in the same period.
Kallanish learns from customs official data that China exported 4.98 million tonnes of steel in April, up by only 0.65% compared with March but down 37.6% on-year. This led to a 29.2% decline in steel exports in the first four months of 2022, to 18.16 million tonnes.
