Chinalco starts stainless rolling mill
Chinalco has rolled its first stainless steel coil from a new steckel, according to equipment supplier Danieli.
The new line can roll 4,000 tonnes/year of plates and 58,000t/y of coils, and can roll non-ferrous alloys such as titanium, nickel and copper, as well as stainless steel grades including 304 and 316 series. All equipment, including a shiftable reheat furnace, flying crop shear, U-tube laminar cooling and the hot plate leveller were supplied by Danieli.…
