ChinaCoal Jiuxin completes coke oven upgrades
Lingshi County China Coal Jiuxin Coking, a subsidiary of China Coal Group in Jinzhong, Shanxi, has completed its coke oven upgrade. This comes as the second 6.78-metre-high 70-oven coke battery produced the first batch of coke in early May, Kallanish understands.
Jiuxin’s overall coking capacity is now 2 million tonnes/year across two identical coke oven batteries. Four old 4.3m-high coke ovens were dismantled February (see Kallanish 9 April).
