China turns into net coke importer
China's coke imports exceeded exports during the same period for the first time in July, which means China has turned into a net coke importer, Kallanish notes.
This is mainly because of the gradual recovery in China's steel production, which has increased demand for coke. Domestic steel companies have therefore begun to seek lower-priced foreign resources to reduce costs.
