China trades 180mt carbon emission allowance in 2021
The first compliance cycle of China's carbon emissions trading market ended on 31 December 2021, with clearing on the Shanghai Environmental Energy Exchange.
Since the official launch of trading in July 2021, the cumulative transaction volume of the carbon emission allowances (CEA) in China is 180 million tonnes, Kallanish notes.
