China supports Indian HR flats export rebound
Indian hot rolled flat products exports rebounded in April after two consecutive months of decline, rising 17% on-year to 353,906 tonnes, according to Indian commerce ministry provisional data seen by Kallanish. Shipments to China ballooned exponentially.
The most-exported product was HR unpickled wide strip below 3mm thick under HS code 720839 whose shipments reached 174,752t. Their average value was $405/tonne versus $519/t in April 2019.
