China steel prices slide as Sinosteel delays payments
Chinese steel futures prices continued to fall on Monday as economic data suggested continuing weak demand. The threat of a default by Sinosteel on Tuesday also clouded sentiment, although the company is busy fending off the danger, Kallanish notes.
The January 2016 rebar contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed down CNY 21/tonne at CNY 1,807/t ($285/t), while the same contract for hot rolled coil closed down CNY 24/t at CNY 1,846/t.
