China's new environmental tax law could hit steelmakers
A draft Environmental Protection Tax Law was submitted on 19 August for review to the standing committee of China’s National People’s Congress (NPC). According to the draft, China will collect environmental taxes in place of current pollutant charges, with current sewage charges set as the lower limit for the tax, Kallanish notes.
