China reports negligible decline in iron ore imports
China’s iron ore imports fell in December last year due to lower demand resulting from Covid outbreaks, but annual imports managed to keep relatively stable, Kallanish notes.
The country imported 90.86 million tonnes of iron ore and its concentrates in December, a decline of 8.1% on-month and an increase of 5.6% on-year thanks to a low base in the same period of 2021 when production restrictions limited demand.
