China reports 1,019mt crude steel output in 2023
China has reported an annual crude steel production of 1,019.08 million tonnes for 2023, Kallanish notes. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) states this figure is stable compared with the prior year, while when compared directly with the originally-published data a year earlier, this represents a 0.6% increase.
The annual output implies December crude steel production at 67.44mt, down 11.4% month-on-month and 14.9% year-on-year.
