China removes 17m t/y of steelmaking in 2015
Despite the weakness of China’s steel market and falling steel production, official figures for removed capacity are down sharply from 2014. The data continue to suggest that market movements are a more important factor in determining steel output than official policies to remove outdated plants, Kallanish notes.
