China cuts see global pig iron output decline

The decline in global pig iron output continued for the fifth consecutive month in October, driven by China's momentous production cuts in the second half of the year, data by worldsteel shows. The world produced 111.6 million tonnes of pig iron in October, down 1.5% on-month and 2.8% on-year, as ten-month output rose by 1.8% on-year to 1.12 billion tonnes, Kallanish notes.  China continued to cut output, by 3.3% on-month and 19.4% on-year…
