China leads global output, utilisation growth in May

Crude steel production for the 64 countries reporting to the World Steel Association (worldsteel) increased 6.6% on-year in May to 154.86 million tonnes. Output grew in all the largest producing countries, led by China with 8.9% growth to 81.13mt. Japanese production rose 1.8% to 9.09mt and Indian output increased 7.6% to 8.82mt.
