China, Korea drive global output growth in June
Crude steel production in the 67 countries reporting to the World Steel Association increased 3.2% on-year in June to 141 million tonnes. This was driven by a 5.7% rise in China to 73.2mt and a 7.7% growth in South Korea to 5.91mt, Kallanish learns from worldsteel.
Production in Japan and India, however, declined by -4.3% and -1.1% respectively in June to 8.39mt and an estimated 7.95mt.
