China infrastructure demand forces steel output down: Macquarie
China’s real steel demand has fallen in early November and steel production is therefore likely to continue falling, according to a survey by Macquarie. A sharp fall in demand from infrastructure activity is to blame, Kallanish notes.
The survey showed declining steel orders at both steel mills and traders in early November, with all sizes of mills and almost all sizes of traders seeing a contraction.
