Four Chinese provinces limit steel production
Chinese steelmakers in Shaanxi, Shanxi, Sichuan and Gansu provinces are cooperating to limit production in the face of a pile-up of inventories, Kallanish notes.
The delayed resumption of work at construciton sites and manufacturers has squeezed demand further and extended north-western China's off-season. The supply and demand dislocation caused inventories to climb to multi-year highs last week.
