China demand ensures Indian semis exports remain elevated
Indian semi-finished product exports, the majority of which were billet, surged 134% on-year in September to 624,751 tonnes, Kallanish learns from Indian commerce ministry provisional data. They were also slightly up on August but still down from the mammoth tonnages seen earlier this year.
The average value of HS code 720719 billet exports was $385/tonne versus $393/t in September 2019 and $377/t in August 2020.
