China beefs up steel industry environmental inspections
China’s Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) notified media on 25 July that it would launch new environmental inspections for the steel industry. Meanwhile it expected local governments to also strengthen law enforcement and increase punishments for those steel companies not meeting pollution standards.
