China completes multi-billion dollar railway investment over January-June
China has completed CNY 312.5 billion ($46.29 billion) of investment in railway construction in the first half of 2017, up by 1.9% year-on-year according to China Railway. Kallanish calculates that in the first half-year, steel demand from railway construction hit around 10.41 million tonnes, and strong infrastructure activity has continued to support Chinese steel demand in 2017.
