China carries Indian iron ore exports in January
Indian iron ore exports surged 143% on-year in January to 3.88 million tonnes, according to Indian commerce ministry provisional data monitored by Kallanish. Their average price was $65/tonne versus $79/t in January 2019.
Soaring shipments to China continued, rising 270% in January to 3.66mt. Exports to Japan, however, declined -32% to 146,050t and shipments to South Korea fell -45% to 71,590t. Oman sourced zero versus 160,170t a year earlier.
