China approves shipping company merger
China’s State Council has approved the merger of China Ocean Shipping (Cosco) and China Shipping Group. The merger will create China’s largest shipping company and a major player on the bulk shipping market with up to fourteen 400,000 deadweight tonne class very large ore carriers (VLOCs), Kallanish notes.
