Chile’s steel consumption to remain high in 2022
Chilean steel consumption should continue stable in 2022, says the local steel institute (ICHA). The market is expected to absorb almost 3.12 million tonnes this year or 4.8% less on-year. Nevertheless, if this outlook is confirmed, the country`s steel consumption will be the second-highest in the last five years following the post-Covid-19 surge observed in 2021, according to ICHA.
