Chenggang constructs strip mill
Yunnan Qujing Chenggang Iron & Steel Group is clearing the site for a 1,250 mm strip production line construction, which is expected to be commissioned in May 2025, Kallanish notes.
Chenggang plans to invest CNY 1 billion ($138 million) to add 1.5m tonnes/year of hot rolling capacity at its existing rerolling plant. It can produce flats with thickness 1.2-12.7mm and width 700-1,050mm in addition to its current longs products.
