Chelpipe anticipates stronger OCTG after 2017 exports surge
Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant (ChelPipe/ChTPZ) expects OCTG demand to grow in 2018 due to increased oil & gas drilling activity. A modest demand growth is anticipated in the engineering and housing sectors.
The Russian pipemaker posted a 14.5% on-year increase in pipe sales in 2017 to 1.99 million tonnes, driven by a 123% surge in exports to 587,000t. Non-CIS shipments soared 264% to 437,000t, while exports to CIS countries increased 5% to 150,000t.
