Charter orders SBQ equipment
US bar, rod and wire producer Charter Steel plans to expand into the special bar quality (SBQ) market, Kallanish reports.
Charter has ordered SBQ production equipment – including a cooling bed, shear, saws, stackers and banding machines – from industrial services company Primetals Technologies.
The equipment will be installed at Charter’s Cleveland, Ohio, mill as part of the $150 million expansion the company announced in January.
