Production cuts hit iron ore prices
Seaborne iron ore prices reached their lowest point last Friday since 5 January, and the futures market crashed sharply at the same time.
The Kallanish KORE 62% Fe index lost $1.53/tonne on Friday to $116.87/dry metric tonne cfr Qingdao. The Kallanish KORE 65% Fe index declined $1.54/t at $131.92/dmt cfr, and the KORE 58% Fe index reached $0.23/t lower at $108.18/dmt cfr.
